Hindi Samaaj is a not-for-profit organisation and is actively engaged in teaching and promoting the Hindi language, and also disseminating India’s cultural values among the local community. Established in 1989, today Hindi Samaaj has a number of trained teachers who teach Hindi to young children. Hindi Samaaj enjoys enormous support from parents who take pride in working closely alongside teachers to achieve the objectives of Hindi Samaaj and we need motivated volunteers to support our development.
About the role
We are looking for a Public Relations Coordinator to join our team. You will be responsible for developing communication materials intended to raise awareness of our mission and generate interests around our programs. Ultimately, you should be able to act as the voice of our brand, writing accurate, appealing and marketing-oriented pieces in journalistic, feature article style. This is a volunteer position reporting to the Hindi Samaaj President.
What you will do
Regularly produce various content types, including email, website, presentations, marketing collateral, brochures, reports, journals, blog posts and, articles, for both external and internal distribution.
Actively manage and promote our blog, and pitch articles to relevant third-party platforms Develop the organisation’s monthly newsletter (briefing, research, interviews & content writing) Writing press news releases for print, broadcast, and digital media Dealing with inquiries from the public, the press, and related organisations Analysing media coverage Developing and maintaining relationships with journalists, editors, media producers, bloggers, and other media influencers to create a strong network
Attending promotional events Support the Social Media Community Manager creating informative and appealing posts for social media platforms
Edit content produced by other members of the team Collaborate with other departments to create innovative content ideas Coordinate with Marketing, Social Media and Communications teams to help achieve corporate marketing goals and ensure brand consistency
Tracking results of public relations efforts
